Me: By joining hands ,namaste and good afternoon ma'am . Vo: Good afternoon, pass me your documents. Me: Sure ma'am, here they are . Vo: Which universities are you heading towards? Me : I am heading towards Avila university which is located at Kansas city in Missouri state. Vo : okay ,how many universities have you applied for ? Me: I have applied to 2 other universities. (But apply chai Avila baahek Webster maa matra garya thiye ) Vo : Name them . Me : New heaven university, Webster university and Avila university itself . Vo : when did you pass your undergraduate ? Me : My academic year was 2018-2022 but because of COVID Pandemic , one year was extended and completed my Bachelors in 2023 . For this I have a letter of gap explanation from my university . ( I gave it to her ) Vo : why this major ? While working in Himalayan Hero adventure during my gap time , I discovered that decisions were made on the basis of intuition rather than Analysing the data. Nepal is also lacking a data driven approach in their business decisions for which decisions are still made based on the traditional approach. This gave me a vision to fill the gap between the information technology sector and businesses here in Nepal, for which I see potential opportunities to become a business analyst so to be a business analyst ,I chose business analytics as my major. Me : I got a scholarship on the basis of my good academic performance where I was also a college topper of my batch. Vo : Any English proficiency test ? Me: yes ma'am, I gave IELTS where I scored 6.5 overall out of nine. ( Was asked to give her ) . Vo : Why this university ? Me : This university was established with the aim of literating women which gave me a sense of closeness towards university missions. They offer unique courses like machine learning and artificial intelligence , leadership and influence processes and creativity and innovation. Also I have reached out with the professor ........ Vo : have you done gre ? Me : No , as it was not mandatory for my course and the university that I was going to. Vo : looking at my transcript , which major are you going for ? Me : I am going for master of science in business analytics. Vo : With a surprise face, Have you read accounting ? Me : yes ma'am in my undergraduate course ,I read subjects like account, finance , statistics ..... Vo: passing yellow slip and saying that you are not eligible for this major. 😭😭 What might be the reason for my rejection ?? Should I go for the second attempt with the same major by adding some intern or online classes relating to my major ?
